PQSA and Homecare+ is now estara

Signifying a new era for South Australia’s peak body for spinal cord injury

Today, South Australia’s peak body for spinal cord injury and disability service provider announced a major rebrand bringing together its existing brands Paraquad SA and HomeCare+ under the one unified brand name, estara.

Unveiled by Minister for Human Services Nat Cook at an official brand launch event hosted by Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello on Thursday evening, estara marks an exciting evolution for the organisation which has had played a pivotal role in South Australia for over 60 years.

“With a workforce of over 700 people offering support and services to people living with disability across metro and regional South Australia, estara is certainly making a significant impact,” Minister Cook said.

“Through its advocacy and depth understanding of spinal cord injury and disability, I know estara will continue to build its presence to create meaningful change and improve the lives of people living with disability.”

The new brand, featuring a star to symbolise excellence and positivity, is inspired by estara’s purpose to help people be connected, be guided and be supported to achieve their full potential.

CEO, Peter Stewart who has been leading the benevolent organisation for over a decade, explains that in addition to delivering in-home support, specialised disability support and social programs, its focus and contribution to community initiatives is part of its DNA and will remain integral under the new estara brand.

“Driven to overcome obstacles, inspire change and create lasting positive impact, we aspire to create equal opportunities and greater accessibility for South Australian’s living with a disability,” explained Peter.

“Our experience and footprint places us in an influential role within the community that we take seriously. We have advocated for and funded initiatives such as state of the art equipment at the Repat Spinal Injuries Unit, accessible beach mats, paragolfers, accessible bathrooms in public places, vocational scholarships and much more.

estara represents a new chapter allowing a more holistic approach in how we influence effective change and strive to remove barriers to good living, upholding the rights of people living with disability,” said Peter.

estara regularly works with hospitals, councils and organisations to fund the delivery of equipment and aids that improve access to social activities, events and vocational training. A registered NDIS provider, its support services are far-reaching extending across regional locations including Mount Gambier, Port Pirie, Port Lincoln, Kadina and Berri.
