gift a will
Be impactful. Including a gift in your will leaves your legacy and makes a meaningful difference to those living with disability in South Australia.
Help our work to promote equal opportunities
Our vision is to create equal opportunities and promote inclusion for people living with spinal cord injuries and disabilities in South Australia.
By leaving a gift in your will you can help us to continue to provide our community activities, accessibility equipment and initiatives, resources and grants for people living with a spinal cord injury or disability, which NDIS funding does not cover.
How to leave a gift in your will
There are many ways you can leave a legacy in your will to estara.
A residual gift or percentage gift will adjust in value over time as the value of your estate changes.
- A residual gift in a portion of your estate or a remaining balance after defined expenses are provided for
- A percentage gift is a nominated percentage of your estate
You can also identify a specific amount of money or specific items of value, such as property, shares, jewellery or art.
If you are changing an existing will, this can be done smoothly using a codicil, which is a short legal amendment to your Will. Your solicitor can advise further on how to make changes to a Will.
How your gift will help
Every gift contributes to vital unfunded services and supports community initiatives, including scholarships and accessible equipment.
You can find examples of our social impact and learn more about our free services, which include our peer support program.
Your gift enables our work to continue so that more people living with a disability or spinal cord injury can access support that improves their daily lives and enables participation in the community.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, it absolutely will. As a charitable organisation, estara provides a number of fee-free services to the community that are not included in government funding. Your gift, no matter the size, helps us continue to provide services like the Technology Hub, beach mats for South Australian beaches which provide access to the water, and equipment to enable people with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities to live at home and continue to promote a more inclusive society.
Not at all. Many wonderful people who leave a gift to charity aren’t wealthy, it’s simply a choice to leave your legacy. Every gift in a Will is deeply appreciated and has a real impact on the lives of South Australians who live with a spinal cord injury or disability.
