Our specialised disability support team leads with a multi-disciplinary approach, ensuring holistic support for our clients. Current programs include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, spinal nurse advisory, peer support mentorship, support coordination, and community initiatives.

Your role

As a Senior Occupational Therapist with estara, you will work closely with our expert Specialised Disability Support team remotely and our estara In-Home team, focussing on our impact across metropolitan Adelaide.

Day-to-day, you will deliver holistic occupational therapy support that addresses client's unique and evolving needs, aligned with their NDIS plan goals. To support the accessibility of estara services, you will provide community-based assessments and advice in relation to daily living, mobility, complex equipment and home modifications. You will be a champion of our client's independence and inclusion and will support them with creative strategies to enhance their abilities, adapt their environment, and discover their full potential.

As part of our specialised program, you will provide expert advice in managing the complex care needs that accompany spinal cord injury, neurological conditions, and more. Your compassionate approach will be vital to empowering our clients through challenging rehabilitation journeys. Essential

• Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) and current AHPRA registration

• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and maintain a high level of customer service

• Ability to work effectively in an autonomous role

• Ability to respond with empathy and maintain calm in stressful circumstances

• Problem-solving and time management skills.

Desirable

• Experience to a Senior Occupational Therapy level, or 12-months experience working with the NDIS

• Experience within the Disability sector

• Knowledge of NDIS worker requirements in relation to restrictive practices and person-centred support

• Wheelchair, complex equipment and home modification experience.

Special conditions

• Current South Australian full drivers’ licence is essential

• DHS Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check and any relevant Screenings as stipulated by DHS/NDIS with at least 6 months’ validity

• Intrastate travel and work outside of normal business hours as required

As estara’s Spinal Nurse Advisor, you will work closely with our expert Specialised Disability Support team, focussing on our impact across Greater Adelaide and wider South Australia.

Day-to-day, you will work with our clients and provide individual consultative advice and support on a range of health matters specifically for those living with a spinal cord injury or related neurological conditions. In this position, you will support our clients with a spinal cord injury to live in the community and maintain their general health, wellbeing and lifestyle in order to live their potential.

This is a truly multi-faceted role that will allow you to innovate and excel in your career.
